FC Pafos is delighted to announce the appointment of Steven Pressley as the new Head Coach with immediate effect.

Pressley began his managerial career as a Joint Caretaker for the Hearts of Midlothian and by today has over 7 years of successful coaching experience at clubs such as Fleetwood Town, Coventry City and Falkirk. Winning 2011-12 Scottish Challenge Cup with the latest, he was 4 times named Scottish First Division Manager of the Month. Along with Terry Butcher, Pressley was named as an assistant to the Scotland manager George Burley in February 2008.

His unrivalled playing career saw him compete for the highest level Scottish teams, including Rangers, Coventry City, Dundee United, Heart of Midlothian (where he was captain for 5 years) and Celtic. Having previously played for Rangers, he joined 4 players in crossing the Old Firm divide. Alongside holding 32 caps for Scottish national team appearances, his playing honors include three Scottish Cup titles (each with a different team), three Scottish Premiership titles, as well as 2 Scottish League Cup titles.

Speaking of the appointment, Club’s senior management said:

His drive and dedication alongside natural understanding of the game make him the right choice. We believe he can bring that knowledge and experience to help the team in current difficult situation. We are looking forward to him joining us in the coming days.”

Pressley will travel to Paphos in the next days to meet his playing squad and start the training process. Details of the wider coaching team will be announced in due course.
