Pafos FC was formed in 2014 after the merger of AEP Paphos (which was created after the merger of the two clubs of Paphos, APOP and Evagoras, in 2000) and AEK Kouklia, and now is the only club that represents the Paphos City and the Paphos Region in the First Cypriot League.

Pafos FC have gained a promotion to the First Cypriot League after the first season (2nd place in the Second League) but were relegated after the 2015-16 season.

The season 2017-18 Pafos FC finds again in the First Cypriot League and is full of ambitions. The club was acquired by the international investment consortium TSI. According to investors, the move will “reinforce financial and managing resources behind Pafos”.

The first professional football club in Paphos was APOP Paphos created in 1953 and recognized by the Cyprus Football Association in the same year. The highest achievement of the local clubs was the 7th place in the First Cypriot League (by AEP in 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons) and semifinals of the Cypriot Cup (by AEP and APOP).
